Bali is the island everyone warns is too crowded, yet ten minutes off the main road it turns quiet and green. I woke for water-temple ceremonies, walked the emerald rice terraces of Tegallalang, and ended most days on a swing over the ocean as the sun dropped. It restored something in me I didn't know was tired.
